What it the Innovation Summit about?
Bringing together innovation, technology and social impact leaders, united by a shared purpose: to harness innovation and shape the future of humanitarian action. Together, we will explore how crises are evolving and the role innovation plays in helping us to better anticipate, prepare for and respond to these crises around the world.
Why attend?
Our world is becoming increasingly shaped by complex, volatile and unpredictable crises. At the heart of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement is the commitment to reduce the impact of these crises for the people and communities affected. However, no organisation can meet this challenge alone. We believe collaboration is essential and innovation is more important than ever – whether that means using AI to better predict future risks or developing solutions that enable communities to respond and recover more quickly.
We need curious, creative & proactive thinkers from across sectors to come together – to explore the future of crisis preparedness and response, and to share tools, knowledge and experience across organisations, countries and disciplines.
That’s why our theme is ‘Designing for the Crises of Tomorrow’.
It’s not simply about finding new ways to respond – it’s about first exploring how these crises are evolving, and what that means for the solutions we design. By bringing together innovators from across our Movement and beyond, we aim to make collaboration and shared learning a humanitarian imperative.
If this sounds exciting to you, join us to design solutions to the world’s most complex challenges!
This event is a brilliant opportunity for us to look at how we can break past our silos and tackled shared humanitarian challenges together. In a world that feels increasingly fractured, with compounding crises, it can feel harder than ever to see how we can make a tangible impact. But we are part of this incredible movement of humanitarians who have the potential to catalyse impact at scale and change the tide in each of our countries and communities
– Tanya Mathew, Head of Innovation at the British Red Cross
It has been far too long since many of us have had the opportunity to come together in person. This gathering is a chance to reconnect with a community of innovators and practitioners from across the Movement, share experiences, and learn from one another. Equally important, it offers an opportunity to engage with voices and ideas from beyond our own ecosystem, bringing fresh perspectives that can challenge, inspire and strengthen our work.
– Marie Alice Manderscheid, Head of International Innovation at the French Red Cross and part of Red Social Innovation
