Children’s vision, empowering the youth to become agents of change

Children’s Vision is a program that was developed by the Youth sector volunteers, within the Lebanese Red Cross. Targeting one of the main needs in its community: overcoming difficulties as teenagers (such as social withdrawal, extreme stress, alcohol abuse, substance use, bullying, etc). Offering a Youth-Friendly space, through which they can develop their skills and acquire new information.

Cartiera is an ethical fashion laboratory created in 2017. It produces leather and fabric accessories according to Made in Italy craftsmanship techniques, recovering high-quality raw materials, and employing people in vulnerability, enhancing creativity and talent. It considers work as a vehicle for personal autonomy, and an instrument for relationship and personal growth. Its production process is ethically and socially sustainable to high environmental standards, thanks to the reuse of materials otherwise destined for disposal by the high fashion industry and the luxury car industry.

How to provide mobile real time monitoring on tsunami evacuation

In November 2022, the Humanitarian Technology Unit of the Japanese Red Cross and Disaster Management Institute, jointly conducted Japan's first demonstration experiment on Real-time monitoring of tsunami evacuation status. This was carried out by using human flow data and AI acquired by a smartphone app, used in the Tsunami disaster prevention drill organised by the Cabinet Office in Nemuro City of Hokkaido.
