Bihucourt is a rural community with a population of 8 00, 50% of which was destroyed by a tornado on 23 October 2022. An hour after the tornado struck, the Pas-de-Calais Red Cross arrived on the scene to assess the damage and set up the CAI (Reception Centre) in the hall of the town hall.

Bricoboutique is a new concept of solidarity boutique dedicated to DIY products. Open to all, the shop offers second-hand tools and materials, most of them new. This new activity naturally complements the social action offered by the French Red Cross of enabling people to buy products in order to improve their homes. It is thus possible to buy parquet strips, light bulbs or insulating sheets at a reduced rate.

In 2019 the British Red Cross launched The Power of Ideas. It is an online platform where staff, volunteers (and in the future supporters) can share their ideas around how they can future proof the British Red Cross and even better serve staff, volunteers, service users and supporters.
